About Us
BEML Limited (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) was established in May 1964 as a Public Sector Undertaking for manufacture of Rail Coaches & Spare Parts and Mining Equipment at its Bangalore Complex.
The Company is listed on both Exchanges (BSE & NSE) with Government of India owning 54.03% and rest 45.97% is held by Financial Institutions, Foreign Institutional Investors, Banks, Public and Employees.
The factory was under the administrative control of M/s. Hindustan Aircraft Limited (now M/s. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) which was later transferred to BEML Limited (earlier known as Bharat Earth Movers Limited) on 11th May, 1964.
BEML Limited, a ‘Schedule ‘A’ Company under Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India, plays a pivotal role and serves India’s core sectors like Defence, Aerospace, Rail, Metro, Power, Mining and Infrastructure.
The Company started with a modest turnover of Rs. 5 Crs. during 1965 and today, thanks to its diverse business portfolio, the company has been able to achieve a turnover of more than Rs. 4,300 Crs.
BUSINESS VERTICALS
The Company operates under three major Business verticals viz., Defence & Aerospace, Mining & Construction and Rail & Metro. The three verticals are serviced by manufacturing units located at Bangalore, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Mysore, Palakkad.
BEML has manufacturing units spread over the following locations:

Strategic Business Units (SBUs)
The company has 12 SBUs and 2 Micro SBUs from three main business verticals – Defence & Aerospace, Mining & Construction and Rail & Metro, to reinforce the company’s legacy of innovation and indigenization.

Facilities
All the manufacturing units of the company have been certified for ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management System (QMS). The KGF Complex, Bangalore Complex and Mysore Complex are certified for ISO 14001-2015 Environmental Management System (EMS). Also, Bangalore Complex is certified for BS OHSAS 18001-2007 OHSAS Integrated Management system and Engine Division, Mysore complex is certified for AS9100C Aerospace certification.
The manufacturing divisions are augmented with the test facilities available at its R&D Laboratories, KGF and Mysore Complex, which are accredited to National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) covering Calibration of Flow, Pressure, Torque and Mechanical Measuring Instruments.
