Shri Som’s leadership played a pivotal role in developing the Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach for Indian Railways, reinforcing his reputation for excellence and forward-thinking.

Prior to his new role, Shri Som headed BEML’s Bangalore Complex, overseeing operations at the Rail & Metro Manufacturing Division. Over his 17-year tenure at BEML, he has made notable contributions across its core verticals—Mining & Construction, Defence & Aerospace, and Rail & Metro. His prior experience includes working with major public companies such as Simplex Engineering and Grasim Industries, where he specialized in manufacturing for railways, steel plants, and heavy machinery.
